The Tankard

A much-loved local in Kennington. Built in the 1800s and full of Victorian charm, it has a rooftop terrace, a warm atmosphere and a loyal following.

Set beside the Thames in Wapping, this riverside pub is packed with maritime history. It is one of London’s oldest watering holes, and still one of the best.

Our Story

Blue Door Hospitality is led by Bruno and Sonia, a husband and wife team with a shared love for pubs with character. Together, they bring every project to life through a mix of operational focus, creative design and a deep belief in genuine hospitality. 

Bruno draws on years of experience in hospitality management to make sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. From building strong teams to delivering consistently great service, he ensures each pub delivers on its promise. Sonia leads the creative direction and guest experience. With a background in design and branding, she focuses on restoring each pub’s personality and creating spaces that feel warm, inviting and full of charm.

Their approach is simple. Respect the history, get the details right and build places that feel like they belong.
